Dr. Krauledat began her 36-year career in the commercial life sciences with Behringwerke AG in Germany where she directed the R&D program that resulted in the commercialization of 7 infectious disease immunoassays, among them the first HIV test approved in Europe. After relocating to the United States she became R&D Director at Ortho Diagnostic Systems, a Johnson and Johnson Company. There she oversaw the development, regulatory approval and transfer into manufacturing of 3 infectious disease screening tests used in the protection of the blood supply. Most notably she headed a three-way collaboration between Johnson and Johnson, Chiron, and Abbott Laboratories to develop and launch the first FDA approved Hepatitis C test.
